Anonymous, 4 hours agoTheir SoC is their own design AFAIK. Unless you mean actually produce, as in produce. In … morelike most mobile processors, bionic chips are also based on 64-bit ARM architecture. so it is not true to say that it is their design.
their cpu are powerful because they are configured specifically for their particular operating system. where if mainstream android cpu is not configured for any specific environment. so their flexibility costs performance.
As a result you can install any linux touch based operating systems like ubuntu touch on your android phone. but the same may not be true for iphones

erodhika94, 4 hours agoSoftware tuning and optimization This is part of R&Dbecause sony doesn’t believe in computer photography like apple or other manufacturers. their phones are not for those who want everything to be spoon fed to them. I’m not saying I’m against computer photography or “AI camera”. but the magic of being in control of what you shoot is second to none. you leave your essence in the pictures you click. it may not be the “best”, but it’s yours

Unless you mean actually produce, as in produce. In that case only a small few have their own fabs, so “no”, that part is normal though.

Software, that’s the software.
The hardware means nothing without the software, it is the software that determines the results. (this is why GCam works, why it can make cheap phones perform even better than high end results)

Sony is PERSONAL that you use manual settings and camera controls with their phones like their A1 or A6400; therefore they put THREE of them on the 1 iv and 5 iv.
The reason they look “worse” is because Sony basically does ZERO post-processing and they expect you to sit down at your computer and fix your photos on Lightroom…

Sony needs to pay a lot of attention to its camera software department to surpass Apple. Hardware is top notch, but software customization needs improvement. Unfortunately crApple is still the most lying and poor quality brand and devices for their prices ever in www, but their apps…Sony take note!
