How to Delete Google Drive’s Cache

Like most apps and websites, Google Drive has a cache of data that it uses to quickly load information you’ve recently visited. And if you use Google Drive a lot, that cache can balloon in size until it starts taking up storage space.
But no matter how you use Google Drive, you can clear its cache in just a few moments. Here’s how to do it.
How to clear Google Drive’s cache on a Mac or PC
If you use the Google Drive website on your Mac or PC, the only way to clear the website’s cache is to clear your internet browser’s browsing data.
Few (if any) browsers let you clear the cache for only one specific site. However, most will allow you to clear your browser’s cache without deleting your entire browsing history.
In Google Chromeclick the stacked three dots in the upper right corner of your browser, then move your mouse over More tools. Choose Clear browsing data. In the menu that opens, set the time frame Of all timesand mark the box marked Cached images and files. Then click Clear data.
You can clear the cache without deleting other data.

In Microsoft Edgeclick the three dots in the upper right corner, and then History. Click in the pop-up that appears the three dots in the upper right corner, then select Clear browsing data. Set the time frame Of all timemark the box marked Cached images and filesthen click Clean up now.
In Firefoxclick the three stacked lines in the upper right corner, and then History. Choose Clear recent history. Set the time frame Everythingmake sure that the Cupboard option is highlighted, and then click OK.
Once you’ve done this, you may need to sign in to Google Drive again.
How to clear Google Drive’s cache on an Android
The Google Drive Android app has a built-in feature that lets you clear the cache at any time.
1. Open up Google Drive and sign in to any of your accounts.
2. Type the stacked three lines in the upper left corner of the screen, then select Institutions.
3. Scroll down and tap Clear cachethen confirm that you want to delete it.
You can also tap on the Case size option to put a limit on how big the cache can be.
Google Drive’s Android app has its own caching options.

How to clear Google Drive’s cache on an iPhone or iPad
The only way to clear most app cache on an iPhone or iPad is to delete the app and reinstall it. Google Drive is no different.
Tap and hold your finger the Google Drive application icon and choose Remove App when it appears. Type Delete Appand then Delete again.
