Oath of Peak is a true Xianxia MMORPG available now on iOS and Android

If you’re a fan of the Xianxia style of MMORPG, the brand new Oath of Peak is worth checking out now on iOS and Android. And with a Valentine’s Day event happening as you read this, now is the best time to get involved.

But what is it? Well, it’s an oriental fantasy MMORPG that draws inspiration from the classic Chinese story, The Classic of Mountains and Seas. You may know it better as Shan Hai Jing, but if not, it is a classic Xianxia work – a kind of Chinese fantasy.

You play as a Spirit Bender who must explore the fantastical world of the Omnispirit continent and tame the world’s creatures along the way. Almost any creature you encounter can be tamed, and they include fantasy beasts like the Kirin.

There are also five different classes to choose from, based on your favorite MMORPG roles of tank, support and DPS. It ties in nicely with the group content, which spans PVE and PVP.

If PVP is your bag, the guild system will appeal to you. You can join a guild with your friends and then go out into the world to fight against other guilds in GVG.

That’s without mentioning a lengthy single player campaign. The game is full of content to tackle, whether it’s exploring the world, catching monsters, or participating in PVP.

The game is developed by Cangaming Net, which is known for Xianxia style games. In fact, you may have already played one of his titles. A Chinese Ghost Story, his most popular release to date, has amassed a whopping 18 million downloads since launch.

Oath of Peak also started well. Over 200,000 players played during the open beta period, before a whopping 500,000 signed up for pre-registration. Since its launch, Oath of Peak has achieved over 500,000 downloads from the Asia Pacific region alone.

But now is possibly the best time to start, with a Valentine’s Day event kicking off. You can go to the in-game store to buy a special new Rabbit outfit that is available for 4 days.
