The Elec: Samsung is forming a new chipset development team within its mobile division

Mills, 1 hour agoThe thing is that Samsung has to use Exynos on their A, F and M series phones/tablets. The A13, A33 5G, A53 5G and A73 5G are all powered by Exynos SoC. The rest run on Snapdragon or Dimensity or even Unisoc SoC.

The Android Freak, 52 minutes agoDimension is quite powerful and power efficient. Use Dimensity 8200/9200.the thing is quite rare to see that chip on global market.
People and I especially do not want to buy from BBK. i don’t want to buy phone that can’t unlock its bootloader

The Android Freak, 52 minutes agoDimension is quite powerful and power efficient. Use Dimensity 8200/9200.They are certainly powerful. Size 8200 should not be underestimated in the upper midrange either. This is all good because now we will see improvement in qualcomm to compete and vice versa. Snapdragon 8 gen2 is a bit more efficient than the 8gen1+, while delivering around 20-25% performance improvements. Finally people in Europa can have a flagship of a Leo galaxy without exynos. Although I suspect that Samsung will use qualcomm to get customers, 2 years later when everyone needs upgrades they will revert to their own chips for extra profit.

Idea: updatable drivers in exynos phones without updating the whole phone so you can choose which driver you want to use on a per app basis in the developer settings menu. You can also download and use any driver you want to any specific application you want. How cool would that be?

Anonymous, 1 hour agoi root for them. Qualcomm will get lazy because less competitive Dimension is quite powerful and power efficient. Use Dimensity 8200/9200.

in theory it makes perfect sense to use the ability you have. However, exynos needs to outperform Quallcom in terms of performance and efficiency to make sense.

My only problem is that some apps don’t work with the exynos model.
But the other 99% of the time it’s a fine chip.

This has already happened several years ago.

Same story, samsung developed their own chipset, ended up with disappointing chipset.

PorkHotdog, 1 hour agoPeople give Samsung a lot of crap just cause of aging and irrelevant benchmark tests, but I… moreI agree I have used S8 Exynos and a Note 9 Exynos, never overheated battery never drained really fast, both devices work to this day.

People who give Samsung a lot of crap just cause aging and irrelevant benchmark tests, but in actual use my Exynos 2100 is very good and I never had problems with it

It reminds me of Huawei’s Kirin SoC. Ngl, I’m still impressed with his performance despite his age. Even the Mate 20 with a four-year-old Kirin 980 SoC still runs like a ribbon with EMUI 12. If Samsung can get the chipset’s thermal management right, it will be worth a look.
