By Divya Bhati: Received a WhatsApp call on the web in the middle of a presentation? or get distracted by all the group call notifications? Well, WhatsApp’s new feature will now help you turn off notifications for WhatsApp calls on Windows. The meta-owned app is releasing the new disable call notifications feature to some beta testers through the official beta channel in the Microsoft Store.

According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is releasing the new feature with Windows 2.2250.4.0. Users who have updated their WhatsApp app for Windows may find the new option to disable notifications within the app’s settings. The new feature will help users mute incoming WhatsApp call notifications if they don’t want to receive them, as many times the system DND feature fails to work due to network errors and failure to mute WhatsApp calls.

In particular, WhatsApp enables calling WhatsApp apps for Windows and macOS. So, users using WhatsApp on a web browser may not be able to initiate a call. Also, the disable call notification feature for the web is currently rolling out to Windows beta testers, so other users, including macOS users, will have to wait a bit longer to get the update.

How to turn off WhatsApp call notification for Windows

  • Once the feature is rolled out to all web users, one-time notifications for calls to these steps can easily be disabled.
  • Open WhatsApp web application.
  • Go to Settings > Notification.

If the feature is available under the notification bar, turn on and off notifications for ‘when WhatsApp is closed’, messages and calls.

Meanwhile, also released a new ‘Accidental Delete’ feature for users to undo ‘delete for me’ messages. The feature is available for all Android and iOS users and allows users to locate deleted messages within a 5 second time frame. Here’s how the new feature works – Message sent to the wrong person? Meanwhile, Meta has also confirmed to bring ‘Picture in Picture’ mode for iOS users. The feature was already available in Android users and will soon be available for iOS in 2023. With picture-in-picture mode, users will be able to use other apps while staying on a WhatsApp call.
