Incredible twist for McDonald’s worker after kind act

A dog and her owner left the internet in tears after a video of them cheering up a McDonald’s drive-through worker went viral, but what happened next made an even bigger difference in the cashier’s life.

American woman Maceon McCracken posted a TikTok of herself driving up to a Macca’s window to see her pup Wynonna’s favorite employee, who was apparently having a “really rough day”.

“This is why it’s so important to be nice to everyone. You never know what people are going through or what kind of day they’re having,” Ms McCracken captioned her video. “This McDonald’s worker brings in their own dog treats to give out and is always so happy. It broke my heart to see them upset today. I’m glad Wynonna was able to brighten their day a little.”

Heart touching moment

In the clip, which has received more than five million views, the McDonald’s employee tearfully explained that she was feeling down, but seeing Wynonna made her happy. The video warmed the hearts of viewers, prompting Ms McCracken to start a GoFundMe to raise money for the drive-through worker.

Describing the cashier on the GoFundMe page, Ms McCracken wrote: “This individual always has the brightest smile on her and absolutely lights up when a customer comes through her window with a puppy. She even brings in her own dog treats to after many suggestions for a GoFundMe, I decided to create one to raise a nice tip for her during the holidays!!”

Ms McCracken also filmed herself picking out a thank you card and some dog treats as she waited for the Macca’s cashier to bring more customers through with their pets to make her day.

People from around the world responded to McCracken’s call, with more than 500 donations, wishes and pet photos left on the GoFundMe page. “Saw your TikTok, had to send some love from Statesville,” someone commented. “We loved the video! Dogs can really sense a special person when they see one,” added a second. “A little contribution from Buddy and Coco in Perth, Western Australia,” wrote a third.

‘Cherry Yellow’ Raises Thousands for McDonald’s Worker

Ms McCracken later revealed that more than $6,000 had been raised through the GoFundMe campaign and in a follow-up video returned to the McDonald’s branch in Huntersville, North Carolina, to deliver the gifts to her pet dog’s favorite employee. The stunned cashier was overwhelmed by the kindness shown to her and described herself as “such a nobody”.

“That’s why I work here because I just love you guys. I love my customers so much. You make me so happy every day when I come here,” she said. She added that she struggles with low self-esteem and told Ms McCracken: “You have no idea how much this means to me”.

The grateful drive-thru attendant said she would use the money to put a down payment on a new car since the transmission on her current vehicle was broken. Although Ms McCracken had previously indicated she was closing the GoFundMe campaign, she revealed it is actually staying open, so with donations still coming in, the much-loved Macca’s worker may soon be able to afford more than just a car deposit.

“Thank you so much to every single person who commented, shared, saved and donated. You are all Christmas angels this year,” Ms McCracken wrote to her TikTok viewers.
