Leatherwood was also popular with fans at home, making it through three live performances covering country songs such as “Amarillo by Morning” by George Straitt, “Sand in My Boots” by Morgan Wallen and “If Heaven Wasn’t So Far Away” sang. by Justin Moore before taking home the grand prize on Tuesday. Each performance earned him enough votes from the fans to send him through to the next round in the competition.
Like previous winners of the show, Leatherwood will receive $100,000 and a record deal with Universal Music Group.

Despite his success, not all fans of the show are happy about his win. Some are excited. Some wish him luck, but other contestants think he deserved it more.
Here’s what the internet is saying.
One fan expressed disappointment in the show, saying fourth-place contestant Omar Jose Cardona deserved it all.
“Omar not only didn’t win but coming in *fourth place* is why this show is actually a joke,” the user said on Twitter.
Another fan replied to the tweet with their thoughts, saying that the country “always wins.”
“Not shocked. Country always wins because country fans are the biggest audience. Leather was not original. Just another country boy.”
One viewer called Leatherwood’s win “one of the worst” in the show’s history.
“This is one of the WORST results this show has ever seen. Absurd,” the user wrote.
Another came to “The Voice” contestant Morgan Myles’ defense.
“He sang the same monotonous crap every week. Don’t have the voice Morgan has,” the Twitter account said of both contestants.
Historically, Coach Shelton has the most wins on the program. He has won nine times with his contestants since the show first aired in 2011.
Now some think the show was rigged in his favor.
“I’m starting to think #TheVoice was rigged for Blake Shelton’s artist to win! Bodie or Morgan deserved to win!!” said a Twitter user.
Despite the uproar, not everyone online had negative things to say. Another Twitter user congratulated Leatherwood.
“If anyone other than Omar won the vote, I’m glad it was Bryce! For anyone who doesn’t like country music, I respect that, but for those who do, this was a great choice. Congratulations Bryce!”
“I knew Bryce Leatherwood would win The Voice. Picked him from day one! Bright future in Country. Congratulations,” wrote another.
Some fans expressed their opinion that they believed Leatherwood did not have the best voice, but they still wished the winning team well.
“I like Bryce, and while I thought he killed it last night, he’s no better than Bodie or Omar. Anyway, congratulations to Blake Shelton for bringing home another one.”
Like many viewers at home, one user said: “I’m so shocked.” But still managed to give Leatherwood happiness.
Regardless of the mixed reactions, the internet still seems to be fans of Leatherwood.
“I was so hoping it would be Bryce!! He is the next George Strait for sure. Pure country,” one user wrote.
