Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons strong reaction to Brittney Griner’s return to the US after 10 months in Russian custody was one of many.

Parsons was critical of the prison swap because it did not include Paul Whelan, who was jailed in Russia after being sentenced to 16 years on espionage charges in 2018.

“Wait huh!! We left a marine?!! Hell huh!” Parsons tweeted after hearing the Griner news. He then spent Thursday explaining the original tweet without deleting it.

Other social media reactions focused on Griner’s past protests. In the past, she took a knee during the singing of the National Anthem. Others were happy to see her free.
