MLS revealed that the 2023 schedule will be released on Tuesday in a clever post on the league’s official Twitter account.
In a mock-up of an online calendar, items such as ‘Look Elf!’ and ‘Meetings’ were blocked on the graphics for hours, while a more important note was practically hidden.
Towards the top of the image can be seen a small box titled ‘2023 MLS Schedule Release’ scheduled for December 20 as the league prepares to kick off its 28th season.
The MLS SuperDraft is also scheduled for the next day, although it was previously announced.

While fans will wait for the release of the schedule to see where the most important games lie, there are certain certainties they can count on before then.
The season will kick off on Saturday 25 February and each team will play 34 games.
However, there will be one more team this year with the expansion club St. Louis City SC bringing the total to 29.
The 2023 season looks set to be another entertaining one as Los Angeles FC will look to defend their MLS Cup victory.

However, clubs like New York City FC and the Philadelphia Union will have something to say about that, while recent expansion outfits Cincinnati FC and Austin FC both had their best seasons to date last year.
The Golden Boot race will also be one to watch.
Cincinnati teammates Brenner and Brandon Vazquez could be in contention as they look to build off of respective 18-goal seasons, while 2022 winner Hany Mukhtar will look to continue leading the way for Nashville.
Last MLS season ended with LAFC beating the Union in a thrilling MLS Cup final, with the hosts winning on penalties after a 3-3 extra-time draw.
