Social media commentator Kishore K Swamy held at Puducherry, brought to Chennai- The New Indian Express

CHENNAI: The cyber crime wing of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) in Chennai on Monday arrested social media commentator Kishore K Swamy from Puducherry for allegedly making a derogatory remark about Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin. He was then brought to Chennai for an examination. He was arrested later that night.

According to the police, he was charged on November 3 for making a derogatory remark in opposition to Stalin on social media. He is claimed to have made the comment when Stalin visited the waterlogged areas at Pulianthope. The case has been registered below IPC sections 153, 294 (b) and 505(1)(b) and part 67 of the Information Technology (Amendment) Act.

The police stated they issued 4 notices to him and requested him to seem for an investigation, however he failed to achieve this. He fled the town after his pending bail software was rejected by the classes courtroom. He was traced to a hideout in Puducherry from the place he was arrested on Monday.

After his arrest, TN BJP state president K Annamalai took to social media and stated that TN BJP strongly condemned the arrest. He requested why the DMK authorities, which he stated was crushing nationalist votes, had not arrested DMK spokesperson Saidai Sadiq, who had made derogatory remarks in opposition to girls functionaries of the BJP. Annamalai added that he visited Kishore’s father and warranted him of authorized help by the get together. Kishore has been arrested up to now for allegedly making disparaging remarks about girls journalists and politicians.
