Social Media Trends To Watch Out For In 2023-Anu Sehgal

Social media is expected to be used by a whopping 4.89 billion users worldwide in 2023. It has become indispensable and people use it to share information, to communicate, to entertain and to learn many new things. Below are some top social media trends that will rule 2023.
1. Short video content will still captivate users in 2023. This is any type of video that lasts less than 60 seconds. Forbes, HubSpot, Mediatoolkit and PR Daily report that short-form videos like Instagram (Reels), YouTube shorts are likely to grow further in 2023. “Attention spans are getting shorter and so should your online content,” says Asad Kausar, member of Forbes Communications Council. It is good for businesses and influencers to advertise with the help of short videos that provide enough stimulation, are concise and are also a cost-effective way to communicate with customers.
2. Influencers have a large audience on social media and they regularly interact, promote brands, educate and share information with their audience. According to a survey by Influencers Marketing Hub, ninety percent of marketers found influencer marketing to be effective. More so now when the Influencers also help major political leaders to share their thoughts and ideas with millions of people on social media. These leaders have a limited amount of time, so their social media presence is managed by skilled third-party companies and by influencers.
3. Metaverse is a virtual space that is expected to increase tremendously in 2023, becoming more immersive and expansive. Social Media Today, PR Daily and Forbes expect the Metaverse to become more understood and integrated into our everyday lives. With technological advancements, we can expect lifelike avatars – the figures that represent you in the metaverse, a focus on VR, AR, virtual stores and NFTs and also a format war between different metaverses. Various companies such as Nike, Starbucks and Ferrari have already started experimenting with the metaverse experience.
4. According to Forrester, artificial intelligence (AI) will be huge in 2023 and AI software will grow 50 percent faster than the entire software market. Businesses will use AI content production software such as ChatGPT, CopyAI and Jasper to make social media posts.
While AI can help with copywriting, it cannot replace tailored and authoritative content created by a human writer. Artificial intelligence can assist in content creation by mapping out or reformatting existing content for use in other mediums such as social media or email marketing. More organizations can use AI tools for tips on improving user interaction and also to personalize posts to reach their target consumers.
