Twitter backflips on social media promotion policy

Yesterday, Twitter was against using its platform to link to other social media platforms. Today, that policy has been erased, and Twitter now says it will survey user opinion before making policy changes.
It was just a day ago that Twitter was going to suspend accounts for users who invited followers to go to their other social media accounts and ban tweets linked to other platforms.
Today that policy is gone and in fact all references to it have been deleted from Twitter’s policy page and blog. The move is in response to negative reaction against the policy.
Musk promises that there will be a poll for big changes like this going forward.

From now on, there will be votes for major policy changes. I am sorry. Won’t happen again.
— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) December 18, 2022
Previously, Twitter’s support account announced: “We will specifically remove accounts created solely for the purpose of promoting other social platforms and content that contains links or usernames for the following platforms: Facebook, Instagram, Mastodon, Truth Social, Tribel, Nostr and Post.”
The ban also extended to URL shortening services.
Well, that policy was short-lived and it’s back to normal in the new world of Musk’s Twitter.
Meanwhile, a “seat-of-the-pants” decision-making style at Twitter since Elon Musk’s takeover is exacerbating digital polarization, says Bill Gates.

ENABLE HYBRID CLOUD AND REDUCE NETWORK LATENCY WHITEWRITING
Hybrid cloud promises to bring the best of both worlds together, allowing businesses to combine the scalability and cost-effectiveness of the cloud with the performance and control you can get from your on-premises infrastructure.
Reducing WAN latency is one of the biggest issues with hybrid cloud performance. By taking advantage of compression and data deduplication you can reduce network latency.
Research firm Markets and Markets has predicted that the hybrid cloud market size is expected to grow from US$38.27 billion in 2017 to US$97.64 billion by 2023.
Colocation facilities offer many of the benefits of having your servers in the cloud, while still maintaining physical control of your systems.
Cloud adjacency provided by colocation facilities can enable you to take advantage of their low latency high bandwidth connections to the cloud as well as provide a solid connection back to your on-premises corporate network.
Download this white paper to find out what you need to know about enabling the hybrid cloud in your organization.
