Dr Ibrahim Wada, founder, Nisa Medical Group has urged presidential candidates in the 2023 election and other politicians to use homegrown social media applications for campaigning.

He said this in Abuja while unveiling a social media app called Ayema.

Wada, who chaired the event, said it was important to encourage home-grown talents like Ayema to enable them compete globally.

He also called on ministers and other well-meaning Nigerians to encourage local content like Ayema, who he said is capable of tackling the unemployment problem.

“I am calling on all presidential candidates to interact with the Nigerian social media platforms, especially Ayema.

“I am also calling on ministers to join Ayema, especially the Minister of Communications because it is our own.

“This is what makes countries proud in international communities and Nigeria should not be left out.

“So let’s all encourage this young talent by downloading the app, which can deliver as much as the famous social media apps.

“Let this discovery of this part of the world be known throughout the world through our patronage,” he said.

Wada, who also represented former Kogi State Governor, Idris Wada at the event, encouraged youths to pursue their dreams.

He described the founder of Ayema as a dedicated young man, who did not allow the circumstances of his birth to deter him.

He said, “there are lessons from the founder’s life apart from the inauguration of Ayema, which is a global brand.

“He started from a humble background but did not let that limit him.

“So, I enjoin all Nigerians with vision to pursue them because we are all given vision.

“What’s important is that we don’t get distracted from our visions,” he said.

Citing several cases of great men and women who overcame their fears to become icons, the chairman said, there is a lot of talent in Nigeria that can be nurtured.

“Yusuf Shuaib, the founder of Ayema, used the stick in his hands to beat the waters and today a new chapter in his life was inaugurated.

“This social media app stands where other global brands stand and it shows that there is so much energy in us to cover the world,” he said.

Wada expressed optimism that Ayema would be as popular as other famous brands in the world.

Mr. Yusuf Shuaib, founder of Ayema, said one of the unique selling points of the application is that it can be used to generate reports of business transactions.

The founder of Ayema said the app is user-friendly, can be used to advertise products and services, live streaming and has the ability to connect the world.

He further said that the application has been registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and has been flagged by the relevant authority.

“This dream that is being unveiled today started five years ago and I am happy that Nigeria is starting again in the world.

“The app, which can be downloaded on Google Play Store, promotes local content.

“This is an indigenous firm that understands our specifications as Nigerians.

“It’s a local content and it’s original,” he said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the National Productivity Centre, which was represented at the event, announced that it has adopted Ayema as its official social media platform.

NAN also reports that the event was graced by former governors, lawmakers and other dignitaries, who promised to use their networks to encourage the use of Ayema. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
